BOOLEROO
CENTRE

Situated in the Mid North of South Australia, and more specifically the District Council of Mount Remarkable, Booleroo Centre is a quirky, sedate little town with more to do than meets the eye.

Booleroo Centre is home to the Booleroo Steam and Traction Preservation Society Museum which features South Australia’s largest collection of steam and traction engines, with more than 150 machines on permanent display. The museum is located at the Recreation Grounds (the opposite side to the RV Park) and for a small fee you can have a guided tour. Or come along on the annual Rally day held on the last Sunday of March and see a huge range of machines in action and on parade.

As well as the Steam and Traction Museum this family friendly town offers a range of activities for all ages. Wander the curvy paths in our old style wide islands in the main street and discover the native animals amongst the shrubs. Or take a seat on our hand crafted wood crawler tractor while you spot all the stobie pole art!
The local swimming pool is open for a refreshing dip in the summer months, to lap swimmers early in the morning and for recreational pleasure in the afternoon. Right next door kids can enjoy some time on the newly installed playground or take a ride on the BMX track to keep them busy!
For something more relaxed, why not hit the Op Shop and see what treasures you can find! This initiative has been set up by Mt View Homes, (the local aged care home) with profits from sales returning to the facility. Your purchase helps support the aged within our community.

Love the plants you see on the grounds? why not drop in to Nuthin But Natives a local nursery located in Booleroo Centre and pick up something amazing like their Sturt Desert Peas or Kangaroo Paw seedlings.

Feeling sporty? Visitors can tackle the nine hole bush golf course, have a roll at the bowling green or head up to the town oval and revel in the activities the sporting complex has on offer from Tennis/Netball courts, a Footy oval or Cricket nets.

If its exploring our backyard that takes your fancy you may prefer take a bike ride on the newly established Booleroo to Melrose mountain bike trail. Soon to be linked to Stone Hut as part of the Southern Flinders Rail Trail!

Head for a drive and discover Melrose less than 15 minutes away and climb the breathtaking Mount Remarkable or head west towards Wirrabara and be sure to grab a pie and capture a pic of the amazing silo art! There's so much to see and do and it's all so close!

Come and enjoy the essence of country life that can all be found within the peaceful township of Booleroo Centre and surrounds!
